Abstract

Dalit literature emerged as a powerful literary movement to articulate the lived experiences of oppression, humiliation and resistance of the marginalised communities. The paper focuses on the representation of Dalit consciousness in contemporary Indian English fiction and highlights the role of literature as an instrument of social change.
